POSITION SUMMARY The Regional HR Manager, Retail acts as the strategic business partner to the Sephora Retail leadership team and as the leader for all HR related initiatives for their respective area of responsibility, typically two to three Regions. The Regional HR Manager will create and implement people strategies and practices in alignment with the Retail business initiatives through effective coaching at all levels of leadership while also leading all regional/district/store succession planning processes. The Regional HR Manager ensures a consistent approach to all HR practices across the system. RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop District Manager (DM) and Store Director (SD) capabilities in HR practices. Coach them to effectively manage the HR demands of their districts and stores. * Be a constant champion for Sephora’s principles based culture and core values. Actively engage with employees at all levels of the organization to ensure all are being treated fairly and with respect. * Ensure effective implementation of performance tools and processes; partner with field management on all documented conversations and terminations. * Diagnose performance concerns/opportunities and identify root causes, offering effective and holistic solutions. Participate in/conduct Climate Surveys as needed. * Support the district/regional succession planning process; lead succession planning meetings and ensure development plans are created and executed on an ongoing basis. * Partner with the Talent Development team to identify leadership needs and build solutions collaboratively. * Identify opportunities to improve/streamline current processes and practices and lead change. Develop and implement proactive employee relations strategies. * Partner with DMs and/or SDs to investigate employee relations issues, including performance management, policy violations, harassment, and other specific areas. * Help store leaders to utilize their time most efficiently and effectively as it relates to HR issues. * Manage the annual performance appraisal and salary planning process for all field employees by region. * Partner with Compensation to ensure competitive and consistent field total compensation; consult and recommend practices that support Sephora’s compensation philosophy. * Other duties as required. REQUIREMENTS * BS/BA degree in Human Resources or related field. * Minimum of 6 years in Human Resources, 3+ years in Employee Relations. * Strategic thinker with the demonstrated understanding of the implications of decisions. * Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in person and over the phone. Proven ability to establish strong relationships with remote teams. * Excellent communicator with all levels of the organization including strong written and presentation skills. * Strong organizational skill with attention to detail. * Proficient knowledge of employment, wage and hours and EEO laws. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Extensive knowledge of the retail industry. * Effective computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. * Willing to travel frequently.
