Position Overview: Reporting to the Total Rewards Manager, the Total Rewards Analyst contributes to and implements initiatives that align HHS’s competitive Total Rewards program strategy. The role is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, administration, coordination and communication of HHS’s compensation, benefit and pension programs. The position will support and/or participate in total rewards processes and projects from planning and designing, through to implementation, including Pay Equity, and documented policies and processes. Regular audits and quality improvement activities are an integral part of the responsibilities. Responsibilities: Compensation and Benefits Analysis Provides analytical support in the development, implementation, measurement and evaluation of the strategies in support of Total Rewards programs In collaboration with Manager, provides compensation or benefits costing, conducts detailed research and analysis including but not limited to: grievances, mediation, rights/interest arbitration, negotiations, Annual Total Compensation Review, budgeting, annual benefit renewals, etc. Supports and or initiates the research and preparation of issue/discussion papers (SBARS) as required. Supports and coordinates the annual review and implementation of non-union compensation and benefit plan design changes and adjustments Coordinates/oversees completion of external salary and benefits surveys Prepares survey summaries (as applicable) and translates analytical results/research into conclusions and recommendations to bring forward to Total Rewards Manager Job Evaluation and Pay Equity Supports the full process of the job evaluation function, including but not limited to Provide recommendation on the appropriate salary grade for nonunion/management and union jobs and completing the SBAR for approval Communicate outcome to the HR, Manager and employee Leads the development and review of job descriptions in consultation with the management team. Ensure job descriptions remain up-to-date and in line with the organization’s goals. . Participates in the Pay Equity review including the maintenance of compensation programs Benefits and Pension Implements and coordinates and administers the various employee benefit programs including responding to requests, interpreting benefit policies and procedures, liaise with benefit providers on negotiated changes per collective agreements, preparation of cost reconciliations, maintenance of applicable employee data. Interprets and applies HR and benefit carrier policies, collective agreements and legislation consulting with others in HR, Payroll and OH&S as necessary. Serves as a subject matter expert for all benefit plans and provides support and guidance to the HR team and employees as required. Reviews and participates in the design of benefit programs in order to attract and retain employees to the hospital. Total Rewards Program – Operational Support Provide advice and guidance on requests for employee and program information from both managers and employees on a variety of topics such as leave and benefit plans, pension administration, job evaluation processes, salary administration, human resources policies and procedures. Liaise and co-ordinate program activities with other HR functions (ie, Employee and Labour Relations, Occupational Health and Safety, Recruitment) in the provision of related services. Minimum Qualifications: Halton Healthcare Services is seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession; patient/customer focused; team players; effective communicators; caring and respectful and are fiscally responsible. Undergraduate degree in a related field Post-graduate Diploma Certificate in Human Resources Management or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) required (or working towards) Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS), an asset Minimum 5 years of recent analytical Compensation and Benefits and/or relevant experience combined with the ability and expertise to support the development and implementation of HHS’s Total Rewards Program. Related Human Resources analytical experience in a Health Care environment preferred. Understanding and working knowledge of relevant Employment and Labour Legislation (ie, Human Rights, Pay Equity etc). Working knowledge of Total Rewards concept and program elements (pension, life insurance, health/dental benefits, compensation, job evaluation, employee assistance, performance management etc). Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint. Experience using Access would be an asset. Excellent Excel and database management skills including the ability to use advanced functions such as macros, Vlookup, Pivot Tables, linked worksheets, graphs, etc. Excellent spreadsheet, word processing and database management skills Ability to translate analytical results/research into conclusions and recommendations. Possesses excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Capacity for thorough and accurate compilation of data and research.
